Financial Help for Separated Mothers

Being separated can be challenging. Especially when it comes to being a mother, because you may find that you are now caring for the kids, have more responsibilities, and have less finances coming your way. This can make it difficult to obtain things like food, clothing, and pay bills. The good news is that there are programs that provided financial help for separated mothers and others with a low income.

Those who have a low income, including separated mothers, may find it difficult to get the bills paid. By tapping into some of the programs below you should be able to get your bills paid and ensure that your needs are being met. There is no limit to how many programs you can apply to or get help from at once, so be sure to contact all those that you feel qualified for.

Some programs will require you to show your income. This may become an issue if you tell them you are separated, but you are still legally married. They may try to use your combined income even though you tell them you are no longer together. Try to make the separation legal, so that you can still receive the financial help that you need. There are other programs where they will not ask for any kind of income verification or inquire into whether or not you are still legally married.
